The Backstory: The WHY + HOW of EarthSTARS SongLAB

Chad Speaks to Songwriting Moments!
Songs Spark the Music for Change
Since 2000, we’ve shaped global adventures into powerful SongLABS. After 37 camps with Grammy writers, the EarthSTARS.earth team transforms real climate and human stories into music that sparks a shift and moves hearts. Join us.

WHY IT MATTERS?
The climate crisis demands bold action. With 2.5 million young eco-warriors already working, EarthSTARS.earth seeks to amplify its efforts through original social impact music.

Our Story
Two Journeys. One Mission. A New Movement for the Planet.
Jeannette’s Story: Journeys That Shape Changemakers
For more than two decades, Jeannette Barcelos Kravitz has led international PeaceJourney youth adventures through sponsorKIDS Charities, taking young people into the heart of the world’s toughest challenges to understand climate change, biodiversity loss, cultural divides, and humanitarian issues firsthand.
Since 2000, sponsorKIDS has brought over 250 students to 15 countries, using global travel, documentary filmmaking, music, radio, storytelling, and culturally immersive service work to develop young global citizens with courage, compassion, and purpose.
At its core, Jeannette’s mission has always been rooted in the belief that: stories + shared experiences = transformation.
Through PeaceJourney Telly Award-Winning doc, Rock the Castle Radio Show, climate storytelling, youth-led in-country events, and international songwriting retreats where major artists worked alongside youth, Jeannette has spent decades empowering young adults to find their voice and use it.
Chad’s Story: Creativity That Shapes Culture
Chad Richardson, a Los Angeles–based Canadian originally from St. John’s, has built a rare dual career as both an acclaimed artist and a respected industry leader.
As a creator, Chad has earned over 30 international song cuts, performed for five years in the Broadway production of RENT, and collaborated across Asia, Canada, and the United States.
As an executive, he signed powerhouse creators like Timbaland and Steven Tyler, and as head of SOCAN Los Angeles, he supported top artists including Drake, The Weeknd, Jessie Reyez, and more.
Chad is also recognized as one of L.A.’s top songwriting camp curators—producing camps for Rihanna, Kesha, and hosting globally influential writers such as Monsters & Strangerz, Sacha Skarbek, Tommy Brown, Tayla Parx, and Julia Michaels. Songs born in Chad’s camps have filled charts and shaped culture for over a decade.
His guiding belief: Songs matter most when they come from real stories.
