RealTalk Op ED Robin WALL KIMMERER Biocultural Restoration

| REAL TALK: Climate, Creativity + The Future, we explore ideas from Robin Wall Kimmerer around biocultural restoration—the understanding that ecological restoration and the restoration of culture, knowledge and human relationships with the land can be deeply connected. Kimmerer's work invites us to think differently about nature: not simply as a collection of resources to manage, but as a living community with which we have a relationship—and responsibilities.

That perspective raises important questions for all of us. What happens when scientific knowledge and Indigenous knowledge are brought into conversation? Can restoring biodiversity also help restore cultural traditions and our sense of connection to place?

And what might change if we began thinking less about what we can take from nature and more about what we can give back? For EarthSTARS.earth, these ideas connect directly to our exploration of regeneration, biodiversity, food and soil, environmental education, storytelling and the wisdom communities carry across generations. Perhaps regeneration isn't simply about repairing what has been damaged. Perhaps it's also about remembering how to belong.

Through REAL TALK, we're sharing ideas that challenge us to look at environmental issues from different perspectives—and to think more deeply about our own relationship with the Earth. Policy informs people. Culture moves people. What does reciprocity with nature mean to you? Share your thoughts in the comments. 🌎 The Earth Needs Stars. Rise With Us. Join us at :
